The reasons I saw listed for baking it were Halloween and "White Trash" themed parties. It's clever but I wouldn't eat it, so I wouldn't waste the resources baking it.

I think a couple of those pictures are pictures of actual litterboxes. But even the ones that actually are cake look real.
