I'm downloading a 2GB MUGEN pack. Technically, I'm infringing the copyrights of Capcom, Marvel, FOX, Time-Warner, and probably a dozen other companies that could sue me into oblivion... all at once. Bwahahahaha.

Cloverfield definitely doesn't appeal to everyone, especially the beginning. But...eh, I don't want to give away anything.

I loved it, though. *shrug*

It's one of those movies that you really have to "buy into" in order to enjoy it.

I was forced to watch that utter shit twice in one day.

I'd gone on a date with David. We saw it, hated it, and David wanted to keep the date a secret so his parents wouldn't be angry. And then my sister and her friend Susan invited me to the movies. I said no, but they coaxed me into going. I had no excuse, as it had only been released the day before. Gah.

Anti-drug movies appeal to me, for some reason. I don't think all drugs are bad, necessarily, just that most people lack the willpower to safely use most of them.

Vincent

funnily enough they appeal to me to.

Now, there's something I'd download, because there's no way the rental shops round here would have it.

I saw a really good one on the Korean war the other night. I don't remember the name, though, but it's actually in Korean, so it shouldn't be hard to find if your video shop has it.

I've never seen a subtitled war movie I liked until this one.

They have a friend or family member who gets the films on DVD because they're academy members. Filmmakers and companies send them out in hopes that the films will be considered for awards.

David's aunt is in the academy and he gets DVDs with all of the new movies.

Not That Guy

Infantile, irreverent and boorish to the max, “Postal” explodes with bad attitude and lousy filmmaking. Opening with the sine qua non of tasteless 9/11 gags and closing with a shot of President Bush (Brent Mendenhall) skipping through a field of mushroom clouds hand in hand with “Sammy,” a k a Osama bin Laden (Larry Thomas), this idiot burlesque of American society manages to be both clueless and fearless.
Jokes about Oprah’s diet and indecisive Starbucks customers? Tired. A celebrity midget (Verne Troyer) being gang-raped by monkeys to advance the apocalyptic agenda of the orgiastic hippie cult Denomination of Organic Monotheism? Timeless!

With the unflappable German troublemaker Uwe Boll as producer, director and co-writer, the film is loosely based on a controversial video game about a trailer park resident (Zach Ward) going “postal” in the small town of Paradise, Ariz. — and is strictly for fans of short-attention-span anarchy and desultory ultraviolence.

Were Mr. Boll less technically inept — if nothing else, his movie is a master class in botched editing — he might have been on to something as viciously cathartic as “Team America: World Police.” As it stands (barely, flatulently, clutching a humongous firearm), “Postal” is a gimpy half-step forward for the man popularly known as “the worst filmmaker in the world.”

Not That Guy
03-23-2009, 12:07 AM
It is based on the Video Game.
Opening scene is so fucking funny.
Two Arabs flying a highjacked plane.
1st arab:Praise be to allah we get 99 virgins when this is done.
2nd arab: What! Osame said i get 100 virgins.
1st Arab gets on the phone:
Osama how many virgins do we get (silence) What only 25 (more silence)
1st arab to 2nd: Osama says what with all the suicide bombings these days and the decadent american teachings virgins are harder to come by.
2nd arab to first: Well screw this then im not doing this for less than 100 virgins, lets change course for Bermuda...
(then the passengers break the door down and crash the plane.)

Brad
03-23-2009, 12:20 AM
i'm watching it right now, streaming.

"ah, it's about the virgins........... uhuh....... really?..... 100?"
